Yes Joonas Suotamo was pretty awesome as Chewie in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and seems to have replaced Peter Mayhew, for now. Suotamo is also in episode VIII, and possibly does some screen time in Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
However, Mayhew is the OG Chewie that I grew up on. I wanted to wear Chewie gear (what little that naked Wookie had) and yell at people all through elementary school and junior high.
